Holiday home Casa Taberna

This 2 people holiday home is located on the ground floor in the middle of Quinta Maragota. This part of the house used to be a grocery shop and café, where the neighbourhood gathered, the horses were stabled outside on a hook by the door and inside beer was drunk by the fireplace. The name we have given to this holiday home, Casa Taberna (café), is derived from this history.

Private terrace

Casa Taberna (45m2) is accessible through a front porch, shared with Casa Antiga (which makes these 2 apartments also very suitable to rent with 2 couples). A few steps away from the front door, under waving palm trees, a private mini-garden is created with a dining, lounging and sitting area and both shade and sun. This mini-garden is surrounded by plants for extra atmosphere and privacy.

Inside layout

The holiday home has a semi-open layout. Through the front porch you enter the kitchen, with plenty of storage space and various appliances, cooking and eating utensils. A door then leads you to a large room, where the shop and the café used to be. This space is divided by low walls, creating intimate places for eating, living and sleeping, while at the same time preserving the spaciousness of this special room. The original fireplace, which has been renovated in a unique way and is a real eye-catcher in the room, can be seen from all angles. There is a dining table, a large fixed corner sofa with fluffy cushions and of course a good kingsize bed. For both cooling and heating an air conditioner with cold/heat exchanger is available.

Through an open passage and 3 steps you enter the dressing room, with space for your personal belongings and suitcases. The closed bathroom with toilet, washbasin, large walk-in shower and towel radiator is adjacent to the dressing room. There is also mechanical ventilation. Towels, beach towels and a hairdryer are provided.
